Just got an email about this, so lets share it with everyone. If you want to create link to share an image, webpage, video, or other link on your Facebook profile, here’s the magic code…
http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=
Just put that in front of whatever you want to share. So for example, if you want to show people this website… http://www.cartoonsmartblog.com/ … then the full link is…
http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=http://www.cartoonsmartblog.com/
The cool part is that Facebook generates thumbnail previews based on the content on that link. So if you were to click that link, then sign in, you’d see this next…
Notice its giving me a choice of 16 thumbnails to pick out as the preview. And it grabbed the most recent text on the blog as a preview.
And since I’m sure most of you aren’t that keen on spamming your friends about the CartoonSmart blog, here’s something very cool, very worth showing off… http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=http://vimeo.com/2567014

That’s a good code to keep on hand. Thanks!
P.S. I love the new blog design! It looks like a “real” blog now!
Thanks man… very helpful. Just used it and it works like a charm.
Hi,
I just tried the share button and I see the thumbnail is not passing through to Facebook. Why?
I am having the same problem, when i use my share button for a flash video, I see the link but not the thumbnail.
Any comment?
Oh, I clicked on the link again and I see the thumbnails.
And I see it is picking on all images on your page as thumbnails.
My share button is on a dynamic video, how can I include the thumbnail with
http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=
Thank you in advance for any tips.
Muchos gracias, senor!

actually i mean to say is the thumb nail view of the image while sharing
i actually included the meta tags in my index pageas follows have i done anything wrong…
0785209905.jpg is the image whose thumb nail i want to show…
I don’t know, thats Facebook’s whole deal. I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong though. If they are auto-generating the thumbnail (or not) is something on Facebook’s end. As far as I know.
thanks but can u share ur meta tags that u specified in your page…
There’s no meta tags that I added specifically for Facebook.
how can i make this links ‘original’………….i mean to write under them my name so everyone can see that I invented that link………

Thats something you need to put on the webpage of the content you are sharing, not in the link itself.
