To Free or Not to Free

I just compiled some weekly stats on my Werewolf iPad app with some interesting results. I switched it from being a $1 app to being free about a week ago. The game has an in-app purchase to unlock extra features in the game. Here’s the free week and week prior… Free (last week) Installs = 3100 [...]

My Gawd, what were people thinking back then. Crazy, crazy old ads…

Okay readership, you all have to check out these 25 Vintage Ads That Would Be Banned Today.  Babies drink soda, doctors smoke, husbands spank their wifes, the N-word gets dropped, and those are arguably the tame ones. For example…

That phone interview I did is now available free!

You can download it or play it online for a limited time by going to CoolPhotoShopVideosOnline.com/?p=87 . And yeah, its a loooong call,  over an hour, but I think I had some decent things to say about freelancing.  Particularly if you wanna know why I think Twitter is the new Adwords. Enjoy!

CartoonSmart launches ArtificialTweetener.com, Free XML Flash Twitter reader

Okay folks, I’m finally launching this. Anyone thats followed my Twitter feed over the past couple weeks, has probably “heard” me experiment with this template with test tweets (= twests?) to catch any errors or just to have an update for the sake of it. Well, its totally done, and in your hands now because [...]

Advertising awesomeness

Thank my dad for passing along the email where I got all these great examples of creative advertising. I haven’t seen the guys (and gal) on Mad Men try anything like this…

Magazines with video ads!!!! Jetpacks are so close.

The Sept 18 issue of Entertainment Weekly will have a video player in the mag! Don’t believe me, read more on CNET. Here’s some cut and paste action from that link….. Here are some more details about the Americhip technology: the screen, which is 2.7 millimeters thick, has a 320×240 resolution. The battery lasts for [...]

A rant: Advertising fail from one of my favorite companies…

Okay, I’ve been a big fan of 1&1′s hosting plans for a long time. I’ve rarely ever had downtime, and I think their built in features (like their control panel components) are top shelf. But I got an email from them today, as I’m sure many of the 530 people I’ve recommended to them did [...]

Facebook in 3D?…Kinda.

Check out this Palm Pre commercial to see a very cool 3D version of Facebook.  It ones of those rare ads that made me rewind backward while skipping through commercials. Here’s something that doesn’t make sense to me though. Why build this set? Seems more expensive than doing it entirely in the computer. Hrm….

Deadbeat Blog Owners Make NOTHING!

Have you abandoned your blog?  Some dude at the NY Times says some survey estimates 95% of all blogs become un-updated over 120 days. And some other guy (me) can give you more not-so-shocking info on this un-updatery here… http://www.webproworld.com/search-engine-optimization-forum/85728-95-blogs-abandoned.html The real reason I’m posting this link is because if you follow that forum thread [...]

3D Posters are… oh, probably expensive.

These holographic 3D posters made by Rabbit Hole will so totally not be in your dorm room. Anytime you have to ask how much something costs…yep, you know you can’t afford it. But RabbitHole, please sticker-shock me!  Make me choke on something when I see the price!  I just want to know without emailing someone… Ah [...]
