Animated Music video Monday

I stumbled onto two great videos today. This first one is probably the more interesting. This is an animated video tutorial, explaining how to use  the iElectribe Gorillaz Edition app for iPad. The animated is pretty limited, but its a great marketing piece for the app. Then this second animation just impressed me

Wind Mills: a super gorgeous cartoon

Here’s a beautiful short cartoon. This might sting the pride a bit, its a graduation piece. Ah, kids these days. They are too good… If you don’t have time for the entire piece, at least check out the blue lighting around the 2:50 mark.

Oh my awesome. An Animated Survival Guide to the Post Apocalypse

How fun is this… There are some good tips though.

This commercial makes me want to huff paint samples all day

All day AND into the night. Check it out below, this whole series of animated commercials is beautiful… If you want to pick it apart frame by frame, here’s a link to some higher rez downloadable versions

Mellow Brick Road Animation

Here’s a very groovy, very shadowy version of the Wizard of Oz. Cool song too…

A super glassy animation and super non-glassy animation

This is a gorgeous bumper piece (only 42 seconds, so take the time to press play)…. It feels like the designs could be used in a game somehow. Like a glassy Q-Bert board. And then for comparison something conceptually similar but very stylistically different (only 20 seconds…)

Like dogs? Like cats? Here’s a great animation!

Here’s a great piece done by Caleb Wood from RISD. My only comment would be “more firefly!” And for anyone starting an animation project soon, check out some of the simple but smart perspective/lighting choices in some of these shots…

Some funny Flash animation

Just discovered this animated series on Vimeo. Very funny. And you might recognize the lead character’s voice if you were a fan of Flight of the Concords…

Just some great animation!

Vimeo’s daily email arrived today with one of these 5 animations down for E4. They are loosely Christmas themed, so what better time to post them then now in March.  Take a look, they are amazingly fun…. And another And 3 more… Here, here and here.

Is everything scarier in reverse. Maybe.

Our friend Justin Cook pointed out this beautiful zombie-filled piece of animation (Justin made our zombie Toon Boom templates ) . Oh and  look at this: Currently the highest rated comment on YouTube is… “i would still do that chick in white bikini…”  …  =)
