Our first HTML5 Template / Component Galleries!

Our master of all things template related, Tibi,  has returned with some Flash-less but no-less-cool templates using the magic of HTML5, CSS, Javascript and all that other good code that’s making both websites and mobile devices look awesomely similar these days. These HTML5 templates are setup essentially the same as his Flash templates: Change the XML [...]

The Experts have their say on HTML5

ActiveTuts has a great article today. Or compilation really of different industry experts and their thoughts on HTML5, Flash and more. Here’s an excellent clipping from Keith Peters…. I think the whole argument of technology X vs. technology Y is stupid and childish and anyone who gets all defensive about their technology – or offensive [...]

YouTube sticks with Flash

Thanks Tibi for pointing out this article buried somewhere’s on YouTube’s site. Its a great overview of why Flash still meets YouTubes needs beyond HTML5. Actually it was a commenter that pasted this in from HTML5′s wiki… Ian Hickson, editor of the HTML5 specification, expects the specification to reach the W3C Candidate Recommendation stage during 2012, and W3C Recommendation in the year 2022 or later.

Wow, I’m reading some excellent comments from my last post (17 is probably a record). I want to keep hearing them, but I also wanted to post an article this weekend, so lets keep it on the same topic. Last night Adam posted this video below which is news to me. A version of Quake [...]

Is HTML5 on par with late 1970′s special fx

See for yourself. Here’s a very well done re-do of the classic Star Wars scroll using HTML5. Notice that once it gets scrolling you can select the text.  Its also interesting to view the source code too. It looks like this short bit below formats and animates a lot of the text… #crawl { color:rgb(252,223,43); [...]
