You can read all the juicy details over at FlashMagazine.com . Long story short though, a Flash programmer did a little experiment by cranking out Flash games and making money from the advertising. For the most part, the games are almost intentionally one-play quality. Like “cool, I played it. Don’t need to play it again”. But he’s made tons of them so there’s power in numbers. And he’s made around 9k in a year from the ads surrounding the games. Which is no joke. Thats probably 8 or 9 mortgage payments. Of course, its not money-for-nothing, because he has to actually spend time making the games, but thats a pretty fun hobby anyway and one you can do while watching TV or a DVD.
And I wouldn’t be a good proprietor of Flash tutorials if I didn’t mention that CartoonSmart has a slew of them right here…. Actionscript 2 and Actionscript 3 Flash tutorials. My favorite is still the Mario Bros-ish Flash game here.
