View Cart button for Actionscript 3.

Okay the troubling question of the day was… what is the Actionscript 3 code to view the contents of your Paypal cart. Not add to the cart, but just view the Paypal cart. And it is…

viewCart.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, viewPaypalCart);
function viewPaypalCart (event:MouseEvent):void
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url);
var paypal:URLVariables = new URLVariables();
paypal.cmd=’_cart’;’’; //change this
paypal.shopping_url=’’; //change this too = paypal;
request.method = URLRequestMethod.POST;
navigateToURL(request, ‘_blank’);
That code would work with a MovieClip onstage with an instance name viewCart. Also part of what stumped me is that you absolutely have to be testing live. So put the Swf on your server, then give it a go. Otherwise you’ll probably just end up at Paypal’s homepage.
CartoonSmart also sells a cheapo less on Actionscript 3 and Paypal, here.

  1. I had a paypal enquiry today, not from a dream client, I can tell you that, but the demand is out there, easy to see.

    My problem is that a search of “using paypal actionscript 3.0” will lead to underground sites offering cartoon smart tutorial through Rapidshare.

    I just emptied my paypal account on a questionable banner campaign. Otherwise I would easily paid for your tutorial. I guess I will owe (again).

    I know this is not the best solutions but I placed Cartoon Smart banners on the home page (a $20 value), they were removed since the book never arrived.

    If I do the tutorial on the issue an affiliate link will be on the post, and if any sales go through, this time, perhaps CS could keep $5 from the commission.

    Bottom Line: I owe you $5
