Flash is back with its brand new invention!

…and that title is exactly the cheesy line that popped into my head when I heard this news. Apple is loosening its iron grip over what/who can compile iOs devices. Which means Flash CS5 can probably now be used to make iPhone apps! Here’s what Adobe says…

“This is great news for developers and we’re hearing from our developer community that Packager apps are already being approved for the App Store,” Adobe said. “We do want to point out that Apple’s restriction on Flash content running in the browser on iOS devices remains in place.”

Odd that this news came out yesterday, and the typical approval time for an app is 1-3 weeks, but whatever. So its back-to-work time for Adobe and we can probably expect an update to CS5 soon.

  1. Whenever that update comes out. I’d let Adobe tweak it before trying to publish an App with it. But who knows, maybe it does work fine at the moment. But Adobe is saying “we have to get back to work on it” which means something needs working on.

  2. For me apple doe not exist anymore, what they tried to do was so lame and one of their biggest mistakes… a lot of developers feel the same as me this is a fact!

Apple is just one smalllll part of the web they tried to own it and now they are backing up when android is getting more an more attention, maybe flash will come next who knows the man in charge Steve Jobs is a bit nuts 100% 🙂

  3. I just coded, compiled and put a foolish little app on my dev iphone with Flash cs5. I am stoked because I was so looking forward to making apps to entertain myself using Flash. This is really fun.

is anyone really surprised?? i said it before, steve jobs was trying to change things his way and he couldn´t because he wanted to change something that is way too big.
I still remember when somebody asked: where is the porn for the ipad and he said: if you want porn buy an android…..let´s just guess what happened.. 😀
and let´s not forget that the Windows Phone 7, is coming with support for live (connected with windows and xbox) and it supports FLASH, silverlight and all the things that a browser should…..ah!! and it doesn´t requires a mac to make apps. So maybe this little things had something to do with the “magical” decision of supporting flash from a man who said that flash was outdated????

  5. Android says:

Apple think they can just crawl back. They made a big mistake and now they think we’re just going to accept them? WRONG
